7 reasons why you should Glamp at the Edinburgh Festival….
Most people have had some kind of camping experience, be it as a child when you were in the Scouts, a weekend trip with your friends when you were first getting a taste for independence, or it could be a beloved pastime, a way to spend an intimate holiday with your family without any distractions. For those who love camping, you don’t need us to tell you how the air tastes different, or what it feels like when you transition from sleeping to awake with only the morning sun to guide you. But for those who have had a different experience, let’s consider some real reasons why you should give Glamping a go this summer at the Edinburgh festival…
1. YOU WANT TO TRY OUT CAMPING…
Glamping is the perfect way to get into camping if you’re not sure whether you’d enjoy it. Things that seasoned campers probably don’t notice anymore can be quite daunting for camping newcomers. Being able to stand up in your tent, having space to unpack your bags, chairs to sit on, concerns over whether your tent is fully waterproof are all things you needn’t worry about with our Glamping Bell Tents. What is so special about Glamping, and camping alike, is that when you open your door in the morning you are greeted by morning sun, fresh air and that big sky expanding over the top of you without missing out of any of the comfort. What’s even better is that with all the space of hotel room, you also get all that greenery and a prime position in front of our beautiful pebble beach and lake. You can sit out in the sun or have a barbeque, and even afford to be able to come away for longer or plan multiple trips over the summer for the same price as one city break. Our Glamping Bell Tents are less than a minute from our toilet blocks with excellent hot showers (trust me, I need a hot shower in the morning!) so there’s only a short morning stroll separating you from your morning routine.
2. YOU HAVE A YOUNG FAMILY
Everyone knows that with a young family, things aren’t quite as straight forward as they once were, and usually, purse strings are a little tighter. You want to still be able to go away, but over peak seasons like the Edinburgh Fringe a weekend away is suddenly a mammoth expense. If you need the space and want to feel assured that your shelter from elements will be sufficient to keep your littl’uns warm and dry, then Glamping is ideal. With high quality premium airbeds, real linen, camping chairs and plenty of floor space, bring the changing table, the baby bouncer, the kids’ trikes. Feel warm and snug in your Bell Tent, confident that you will be secure, protected from the elements and still able to enjoy the wonders the Edinburgh festivals have to offer.
3. GET A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP
Camping and glamping alike is also an excellent way to reset your natural sleeping rhythms. Our bodies function best going to sleep when it’s dark and waking up when it’s light, as the melatonin levels in our bodies adjust according to the natural light surrounding us. Artificial light affects our ability to increase melatonin, which sends signals to brains telling us when it’s time for bed. So coming Glamping this summer may be the break your body needs away from all those bright lights, TV screens and electronics to allow your body to unwind down and get the best night’s sleep you’ve had in ages.
4. IT IS GOOD FOR YOUR PHYSICAL HEALTH
Yes, I know people are always talking about fresh air, but Glamping (and camping!) is actually good your health for a number of reasons. Fresh well circulated air gives your lungs a chance to clean themselves and with all the oxygen production from the greenery around us, our lungs will be thanking us after spending the day in the inner city bustle of the Edinburgh festivals. The increase in activity, walking to and from the car, over to our breakfast tent or around the site will increase your endorphins which will also make you feel great.
5. IT IS GOOD FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH
Having a break is also crucial for your wellbeing and mental health. Getting away from work, your daily grind and all those distractions that filter into our days will be a welcome break for you and your family. Glamping is the perfect way to make a small investment in your own and your family’s wellbeing to spend some quality stress-free time together, create wonderful memories, strengthen bonds with your family and reset this summer.
6. YOU WANT TO ENJOY THE FESTIVAL BUT NEED A BREAK FROM THE CRAZINESS OF THE CITY
If you have ever been to the Edinburgh festivals before, you will be aware that the city itself turns to chaos over the month long period of the five different festivals that are being held. With literally millions of people being drawn into the city, it’s exciting, fun and vibrant, but heck is it tiring! The constant buzz of everything going on is an amazing experience, but there is nothing quite like being able to retire to your own little safe haven, a quiet space on some real grass where you can sit and recharge ready for the next day.
7. YOU NEED COMFORT AND PARKING
As above, our Glamping Bell Tents offer luxury budget accommodation, and very importantly, parking. Driving in the city centre over the festival isn’t exactly advisable, and trying to find a parking space could be classed as a sport in it’s own right. With regular buses or trams into the city 24 hours a day, free parking at the campsite or at the Park and Ride just up the road, you can easily get around without having to worry about where to leave your car and still enjoy your stay in style.
