After winning the TTG ‘The Big Idea’ and the backing of 4 industry Travel Investors, Campingninja set about shaking up the camping industry by introducing the 1st booking platform specifically designed for campers and campsites.
The next step was to take their knowledge of the camping industry and overseas operations to major sporting and outdoor events around the UK and Europe. Leading up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games the pair came up with the idea of setting up one campsite for ticket holders, Gamesmakers and workforce contractors, providing a fantastically unique campsite and affordable accommodation, whilst contributing to grass root sports.
After a week of selling it became clear a 2nd campsite would be needed. Then a 3rd. Then a 4th. In total Campingninja created, marketed, took bookings for and operated 13 campsites simultaneously during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. With campsites situated in challenging locations in London, the South East and Weymouth the team is extremely proud of its expertise in operations, marketing, planning, licensing, working with local communities and creating much needed funds for community sports clubs.
Campingninja created a Volunteer village and Fan village for the Glasgow Games in the Summer of 2014 for over 8000 fans and volunteers.
We are excited to have created and operate the 1st ever Festival camp site dedicated to the Edinburgh Festivals during the month of August. Edinburgh Festival Camping accommodates performers and visitors alike. We even have our very own official breakfast stage to showcase acts!
