Our marquees are a space for everyone on the campsite to use and enjoy from 8am til late. They are a place to:

  • eat a hearty breakfast or grab a snack
  • have a hot drink & plan your Edinburgh experience
  • play games together
  • have a beer or a wee dram with friends
  • pick up our acoustic guitar and play a tune
  • shelter from the, occasionally a bit wet and windy, Scottish elements

Toilets and Showers etc.

We’ve always been proud of our toilets and showers at Ed Fest Camping. We are a temporary campsite but not all of our facilities are temporary – we have 2 toilet blocks and 1 shower block with toilets, all of which are fixed permanent facilities and provide high quality hot showers, loads of basins to wash in and plenty of toilets.

All blocks are all regularly cleaned, inspected and re-stocked…

Basically we will all be as clean as a whistle!!!

Toilets and handbasins at Edinburgh Festival Camping

We’re very proud of the campsite we produce and operate for just 4 weeks of the year. We know we represent really good value for money compared to other available accommodation in Edinburgh during the Festival & Fringe, and compared to other temporary campsites servicing festivals around the country. Reviews are very important to us so we can understand what we are getting right and where we need to improve, and the customer feedback we get is directly used in our planning for the following year… Our customers are everything and we want to make you happy!!!

Environment Matters

It’s important to us as a team to try to create as little an environmental impact as possible. This year we are upping our game and have some new initiatives especially around single use plastics and re-using where possible when it comes to our Tipi bar and cafe. Where this proves impossible we make sure everything which can be recycled is at a state of the art Scottish recycling centre…

Reduce Single Use Plastic

We’re doing our best to reduce our own single use plastic consumption on-site and want to encourage you to do the same. We’re no longer using any plastic cutlery at breakfast and will be using biodegradable cups at the bar. Drinking water is available all around the site for you to fill up your water bottles so please bring one and don’t buy bottled water…

Re-use as much as we can

Whilst re-using as much as possible of our own equipment we also want to encourage you to do the same. So, bring your own mug and get a discount on hot drinks in the cafe; even bring your own plate too for breakfast if you can. We have plenty of washing up facilities for all to be able to wash and re-use over and over.

Recycling on site

On site we recycle as much glass, plastic, paper and cardboard as possible. Our clearly marked recycling bins and cardboard enclosures help sort our waste before its journey to a state of the art recycling facility.

Carbon Offsetting

In the first instance we aim to create as few carbon emissions as possible. We also carbon offset our annual transportation and utilities footprint by purchasing Plan Vivo certificates. These certificates pay towards projects around the globe such as the CommuniTree Carbon Program in Nicaragua and the Khasi Hills REDD+ project in India.

Our Team

Edinburgh Festival Camping is brought to you by the Campingninja Team. Our aim is to make largescale events more accessible for everyone by creating reasonably prices temporary campsites for people from all over the world to stay in.

At our HQ we have a small and dedicated team who work year round to make sure our Edinburgh campsite is the best it can be. Geoff and Rhian are the Founders and in 2021 they will be spending their 6th Summer up in Edinburgh with their families; Sarah was originally a Volunteer back in 2016 and then came to work with us in the office in Gloucestershire in 2017. Your experience, from browsing and booking right up until you get home after a great stay, is the most important thing to us… We’re looking forward to seeing you in Edinburgh.

Sarah, Rhian and Geoff on a colder day at HQ!
Some of our fantastic 2019 volunteers enjoying a meal and a few drinks together!

In the run up to the Edinburgh Festivals we will be joined by a whole bunch more staff who will be managing our facilities, security, bar, cafe, customer services, volunteers, check-in, marketing, operations, and our Venue403. We’re very proud that, across the board, our staff are always rated extremely highly by our customers. Check our Jobs Page to see what we have available…

As well as our core staff team we welcome volunteers from the UK and all over the world to stay with us and become part of the Edinburgh Festival Camping family. Check our Volunteering page to find out more and see if we still have Volunteer positions available…
