Can you really get great value accommodation for the Edinburgh Festival?

The scramble is now on for the last remaining accommodation during the Edinburgh Festival that won’t leave you destitute! It’s well documented that accommodation prices in the City can be astronomical during the month of August when Edinburgh hosts the biggest arts festival on the planet! But what does this mean for those last minute festival goers amongst us who have yet to book… Is there still a bargain to be had… the answer is of course YES!

For the first time ever you can camp at the festivals dedicated campsite and below we have summarised how it compares to the next cheapest alternatives out thereTake a look and see what we can offer…

Campingninja price BYO camping (per night) Campingninja price in private pre pitched tent (per night) Average best price of budget alternative (hostel mixed dorm/student digs in shared room) (per night)
Individual £19 £35 £52.16
Couple £38 £58 £106.88

So what do you get for your money? Will I be stuck in a tent in the middle of a field I hear you ask? Far from it! The lovely leafy setting of the Royal Highland Centre has a wealth of facilities already in place including proper hot showers and toilets and on site parking. And to make your campsite a real home away from home Campingninja will be bringing in; comfy chill out areas, on site check -in and festival information points, the infamous Hay & Bale Bar & Kitchen, ceilidh nights, BBQ nights, quiz nights, story time for the kids as well as ninja fitness and ball games.

The campsite is also excellently located not only for the festival but visiting the rest of what the fabulous country has to off. Situated a few minutes drive from the M9 and M8 motorways and just a 15 minute walk from Edinburgh Airport and tram stop the campsite is in a great spot for those travelling from further afield and is just a 23 minute bus ride or tram journey from the City Centre (approx 12 minute walk to the nearest stops). The N22 bus runs all night past the Royal Highland Centre and a Ride card will cost you just £17 for unlimited travel for the week. For the cyclists amongst us Edinburgh is a bike friendly City and we will be providing a bike lock up so that you can get into the City on just 2 wheels!
