What’s on at Venue 403 in the Giant Tipis

It is only a couple of months until Edinburgh Festival Camping opens its doors on 1st August and let me tell you, we cannot wait! We’ve been talking with musicians, comedians, dancers, poets and street performers about what’s happening on our official Fringe stage, Venue 403, and we’ve got a fantastic month lined up! Here’s a couple of the things you can expect to see in the Giant Tipis this summer…

WHEN: Performing regularly between 6th – 15th August
WHERE: The Tipis at Edinburgh Festival Camping

Hannah first performed with us back in 2016 when Edinburgh Festival Camping was in it’s second year. Hannah is a warm, friendly, incredibly talented and creative soul, excellent at collaborating with other musicians and bringing a new sound to our stage. A singer-songwriter, expect soft acoustic tones and a strong Welsh accent. We were lucky enough to see her again in 2017 and we’re very happy that she’ll be staying with us again this summer.

WHEN: Wednesday 7th August
WHERE: The Tipis at Edinburgh Festival Camping

Geoff Robb was the winner of the 2018 Brighton Fringe Live Music Award for his solo show and we’re really pleased that Geoff will be joining us for the evening on Wednesday 7th August to share some of his music with us.

His beautiful meditative compositions blend his classical training and background in healing with his love of Spanish and Celtic music. He has performed to audiences all over the UK and beyond at venues including Buckingham Palace and Glastonbury Festival. He performs on both steel string and nylon string guitars including a beautiful Maple guitar he built himself with the expert help of luthiers Richard Osborne and Cameron Mobbs.

“Very talented – makes the guitar sound like 2 guitars and a piano”
BBC Southern Counties

Don’t miss his solo show, The Music of Trees at @theSpace at Surgeon’s Hall from 6th – 10th August. 2 for 1 tickets are available on Tuesday 6th August.

WHEN: Wednesday 21st August

Join synth-pop trio Zkeletonz for a preview of their brand new show ‘Apocalypse how?’ They’ve been on Sunday Brunch, BBC Introducing and Apple Music’s ‘Best Of’ playlist. They have one message – have fun and be yourself. Expect dance-like-nobodys-watching, live electronic music with positivity, playfulness and glittery costumes. All hail the harbingers of joy!

Zkeletonz are ‘one of the UK’s most innovative and independent bands’ (Native Magazine). The trio have been featured by BBC Introducing, Channel 4 Sunday Brunch, Radio X, Amazing Radio, Chilean national TV, the Birmingham Mail and the front cover of the Irish Post. In April 2019 their self-produced single ‘Got To Be Right’, mastered at Abbey Road, was playlisted ‘Best Of’ by Apple Music in Indonesia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. West End Extra describe their unique sound as ‘Hard cheese…intelligent cheesy music’.

Get ready to hit the dance floor, they’re with us on Wednesday 21st August.
